The Cursed Blue Rose
Astraia appears in the gazetteers of the continent exactly once, against a single city on a landmass a full ocean to the east. It holds Astaurum — a place of scholars standing on a river in open grassland, counted among the greatest cities in the world — and it holds nothing else that anyone on Kworgalya has charted.
It is not a bloc. It answers to no seat, keeps no listed faith, and sends no levy anywhere. Where every other power in the Atlas can be placed on the map of who owes what to whom, Astraia simply sits outside it.
Sailors in the eastern harbours will tell you the crossing to Thirvandor is not worth attempting, and will give you several incompatible reasons why. Some speak of the distance and the weather, which are real. Some speak of what is supposed to stand off that coast. Most simply change the subject.
That a city of that size should sit alone at the far edge of the world, governing itself under a name the continent barely knows, is the kind of thing scholars in Velastra have written careful papers about. None of the papers agree.
Who governs Astraia, what it wants, and why a scholars' city needs a name for its government at all — these the Atlas does not record. It is possible nobody on this continent has ever been told.
