The Cursed Blue Rose
The second of the two ways. Where fire asks what may be done, ice asks what there is.
Cryonica is the grammar of ice as the Great Spirit of Ice holds it: the manipulation of matter. It is the other pole of the world, and every schema that is not descended from fire is descended from here.
Matter is not fungible. It is somewhere. It has to be found, dug, carried, held and defended, and this single fact shapes everything the cold side of the world became — patient, territorial, institutional, and profoundly concerned with who has access to what.
It is also what bodies are made of. Fire may be the more spectacular pole, but nothing lives without the cold one, and the peoples who built their civilisations on ice built the ones that last.
"Fire wins the afternoon. Ice wins the century."
