The Cursed Blue Rose
River on one side, lake on the other, and Glimaros takes from both. The ground under the eastern grassland gives ore, and mining is the first business, workings out on the open plain with the spoil carted back toward the water. Harvest is the second: grain and reed and grazing off the grassland, fish and fowl off the lake. Industry is the third, for water does the heavy hauling and the wheels do the rest, so that much of what Glimaros digs is smelted and worked here before it travels anywhere.
Glimaros dates from the second wave of expansion, which makes it one of the older towns of the east, and it remains a modest one, prosperous in a plain way and with no appetite for showing it. Glimarans are Suvanar, and no nearer seat stands between the town and Risbern, so they deal with the bloc themselves. Observance here is of the Radiant Light, unfussy and domestic, kept inside the working day rather than set apart from it.
