The Cursed Blue Rose
Everything heavy in Feldurvei moves on the lake. It is a flat road for loads that would break a forest track, open water through one half of the year and hard enough to carry sledges through the other, and the boreal forest supplies the rest — timber, charcoal, hide, pitch. Little arrives here finished and little leaves unfinished. Sawn boards, barrel staves, tool handles, worked leather and drawn wire come out of workshops that have taken in raw material and sent it back out improved since the town was raised in the fourth wave of expansion.
The Glac Dom holds Feldurvei and takes what its workshops make. Its elves are craftspeople before they are anything else, and the town's habits reflect it: long training, exacting standards, a suspicion of hurried work that outsiders find tiresome. A finished piece leaves when whoever made it says so, which means the barges wait more often than the workshops do.
