The Cursed Blue Rose
The Elehath were not born in Kworgale. They came from a distant, now-lost world — a realm of dazzling technology, celestial beauty, and balance between two elemental forces: the Great Spirit of Fire and the Great Spirit of Ice. In their prime, the Elehaths were a race of transcendent beings, capable of harnessing both magic and science with divine precision. Some bore feathered wings, radiant symbols of their spiritual harmony and connection to the primal elements.
But with ambition came ruin.
In time, their thirst for dominance fractured the peace. They created weapons of unimaginable destruction, draining their world’s elemental spirits to fuel their wars. And in that moment of elemental collapse, the Eldritch Truth awoke. Cosmic horrors from the beyond pierced their realm, devouring it in a storm of madness and entropy. These cosmic horrors are collectively known as the Nightmare — a force with a terrifying connection to the Great Spirits of Fire and Ice. When the Great Spirits die, become corrupted, or weaken, the Nightmare is instantly drawn to that world.
Only a handful of Elehaths escaped.
As the world of Kworgale was still forming — its oceans young, its skies untouched — the surviving Elehaths descended in great crystal ships from the void. They arrived not as conquerors, but as mourners, seeking to protect this new world from the fate they had wrought upon their own.
It remains unclear whether Kworgale’s Great Spirits of Fire and Ice were already present or whether the Elehath awakened them from slumber. Regardless, it was in this land that they made their stand.
Most of the surviving Elehaths eventually reincarnated as Elekoi — humans, elves, and dwarves — blending into the emerging peoples of the new world. But five among them did not diminish. Five rose to effective divinity.
Among the survivors rose five paragons of flame and frost, whose decisions would shape the destiny of Kworgale:
The Ancient Deity (Fire) — A being of boundless compassion and radiant will. She would one day create Radiance Magic and the elemental force of Harmonia. Her influence echoes across the ages through the Belstern royal line and into the soul of the Verdant Kinship.
The Ancient Devil (Fire) — Sister to the Ancient Deity. Once a radiant being, she succumbed to a hunger for power, draining the lives of others to increase her flame. Her fall birthed the first whispers of Demon Fire, and in her descent, her feathered wings blackened and transformed into draconic horrors.
The Ruby of the Wilds (Fire) — A gentle soul tied to nature and renewal. She was hunted by demons seeking her Ruby Heart, a core of pure creation fire. To protect the world, she sacrificed herself, infusing her essence into a tribe of humans. Thus, the Sunfang Werewolves were born — guardians of her still-beating Ruby Heart, hidden within a golden ambar tree in Sunspire Forest.
The Warden of Stillstars (Ice) — An elven figure of serene foresight, bearer of a mystical ice bow. His teachings gave rise to the elven reverence for memory and clarity. He chose his daughter Glacya to lead the next generation of ice wielders, and she would go on to found the Glacial Dominion — dedicated to the true ideals of Ice: balance, patience, and preservation.
The Hammer of Eternal Frost (Ice) — A dwarven king of endurance and sacred craftsmanship. His enchanted hammer forged harmony from elemental forces. Though his death is shrouded in mystery, it is believed his Heart transformed into the Eternal Frost — an unmelting, sacred ice now buried in the northern lands of Azcaloth. The Polar Dwarves and their Frostforged Valkyries are his spiritual heirs.
After witnessing the fall of their former world, the five Elders bound themselves by an oath: never again would their kind allow ambition to consume balance. This sacred promise became known as the Pact of the Five Flames and Frosts.
To uphold this vow, the Elders sealed away their forbidden technology, weapons, and knowledge in a realm beyond space and time. This dimension became Eternalya — a cosmic sanctuary where truth would be preserved and never manipulated.
Accessible only through the Veiled Gateway, Eternalya floats outside the mortal realm. There, the Keepers of the Celestial Truth guard the relics, records, and destinies of the world. The city is a marvel of starlit architecture, housing:
The only keys to Eternalya are the Five Hearts of the Elder Elehaths. Unless an Elder still walks the world, only by gathering the five crystalline hearts can the Gateway be reopened.
Though united in the Pact, not all remained bound to it.
The Ancient Devil’s heart was too powerful to destroy. It was locked away in the Eldertomb Dungeon, a cursed vault of eternal fire and corruption. The Ancient Deity reincarnated into the Belstern line, eventually giving rise to Natyria and the creation of Harmonia. The Ruby of the Wilds became one with the land, her legacy living through the Sunfang. The Warden of Stillstars entrusted his legacy to Glacya, who rose to become a protector of balance through the Glacial Dominion. The Hammer of Eternal Frost’s Heart became the sacred ice now wielded by the Polar Dwarves and their Frostforged Valkyries.
The feathered wings of the Elehath became symbols of divine purpose. Today, few bear them. Those who do are bound by spirit or blood to the ideals of the Elehath.
Ancient murals speak of a day when the Five Hearts shall resound once more — when the balance of flame and frost is shattered, and the veil hiding Eternalya begins to tremble. Should Demon Fire rise again and the Great Spirits weaken, the Eldritch Truth may return.
Only one being truly understands this threat: Trysania. Once a cultist, now a guardian of forbidden knowledge, she uncovered the secret cause of the Elehath civilization’s fall. Armed with a fragment of the Elder Elehath’s forbidden power, she fights in secret to hold the ancient horrors at bay — seeking a path that may yet sever the connection between Kworgale and the realm beyond stars.
Only then shall the Elehath’s legacy be tested. Not by their power, but by the choices of those who walk the path they left behind.
